2019 GMC Canyon Exterior Colors
2019 GMC Canyon Exterior Colors Like his platform companion, the Colorado Chevrolet, the 2019 cannon cannot stack up to his full-sized companions, but at almost 19 feet from end to end, it’s not a small fry. The canyon comes in various levels of trim, SL, Canyon, SLE, All Terrain, SLT, and Denali, ranging from utilitarian to almost luxury. Those who opt for the all-terrain trimming will receive the help of style details off the road, but this is not a rock climber like the Colorado ZR2.
For 2019, the cannon has a smooth upgrade, including a new Infotainment system with cloud-connected navigation and automatic software updates. There is also the option of parking sensors, a 6-position electrically adjustable driver’s seat in various trims, a new 17-inch SLE wheel design and four new colors: Dark Sky Metallic, Smokey metallic quartz, Metallic emerald Blue and Sedona Metallic.
The cannon comes in a variety of sizes, including extended bodies or crew-cabin with a short bed of 5 feet-2 or long bed of 6 ft-2, with a long bed the only option in the extended version of the cabin. Engine options include a 2.5-liter inline-4, 3.6-liter V-6, or turbodiesel 2.8-liter inline-4. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard on some inline-4 models, and a 6-speed automatic is optional for 4-cylinder gas and diesel engines, while the V-6 can be had with an 8-speed automatic. The barrel comes in the rear or four-wheel drive like most pickups.
Although not an athlete, the canyon is quiet and nice on the road, and with the diesel, you can deliver up to 30 MPG on the road. The powerful diesel also rolled up to 7,700 lbs, satisfying the usual needs for many pickup buyers.
While they share engines, platforms, and more, the canyon and Colorado differ greatly in their clipping levels and anticipated shoppers. Where the Colorado ZR2 off the road Bruiser represents the best money from Colorado you can buy, GMC Canyon Denali batteries in chrome Trim and luxury features for those looking for a pickup experience going down.
The boxy shape of the barrel is emphasized by its high grille and rectangular headlamps and wheel arches, giving it a more commercial look than curvilinear Colorado, although the two are almost indistinguishable from the side. The height, the increase of the beltline gives the cannon a slightly sportier appearance than other trucks.
Offered in the configuration of the extended cabin or crew, both versions of the barrel come with two doors on either side, either half tailgate in the extended cabin and full-size doors on the crew. The extended cabin model is only available with a longer bed of 6 feet and 2, while the crew cabin can be taken with a bed that is a shorter foot if desired.

The curved board places most of the controls up and well within the reach of the driver, and while the cannon is not out to impress at the bottom of the range, the highest-facing Denali adds faux wood upholstery and leather upholstery.
2019 GMC Canyon Engine
If you are cross-shopping the cannon with your fraternal twin Colorado, you may have noticed that the Chevy received 7 of 10 points in this category. That extra point is for Colorado’s hardcore ZR2 model, which packs some serious off-road hardware into a capable truck. The cannon instead avoids dexterity off the road for a comfortable style.
The entry-level engine is a 2.5-liter in-line cylinder of 4 that makes 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. As standard, Canyon combines the 6-speed manual transmission with rear-wheel drive, and a 6-speed automatic is optional with rear and standard four-wheel drive. The choice of the reinforced engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 with a respectable 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet and is by far the most popular engine option for its superior power and decent fuel economy. The V-6 also receives an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Finally, buyers with an eye for torque and efficiency can opt for a 2.8-liter inline-4 turbocharged diesel, which only makes 186 hp but a whopping 369 pound-feet of torque. Paired with a 6-speed automatic, the diesel impressed us with its refined performance and capacity thanks to torque, towing up to 7,700 lbs when properly equipped. The V-6 gas receives a 7,000 lb towing rating, but it feels more taxed when towing near that limit.
For those interested in traveling off the beaten path, the All Terrain X package is a better choice than the standard all-terrain for its Goodyear SUV and other off-road treats. Cannons equipped with four-wheel drive get a stronger transfer box with an automatic mode, something that is not available on other trucks.
