2021 GMC Sierra 1500 takes on an all-new look in 2019 thanks to a complete redesign that includes a bold grille, new headlights, smooth sheet metal on the sides, and a completely revamped rear on top of the new chassis.
Although there is a rumble of early life refreshment that came for Sierra 2021 2021, we hope this will be an accumulation.
As a carryover model, we expect 2021 GMC Sierra to hit showrooms with the same thick nose as those introduced by car manufacturers in 2019.
This includes different large grille at each trim level, C-shaped LED lights, and more.
If there is a refresher, we hope the body remains largely the same, because GMC will change most of its focus on dressing the cabin.
Inside, the new generation Sierra 1500 offers a more angled dash with a striking center stack that features an almost “X” shape.
The dashboard also includes dual glove compartments, angled air vents, chunky HVAC buttons, and a brave steering wheel. We hope this will continue in Sierra 2021.
Under its hood, the Sierra 1500 currently has a wide selection of powertrain, starting with the 285-liter 4.3-horsepower V6 engine.
Next is the 2.7 liters turbocharged four-cylinder unit with 310 hp in the tap.
Entering the V8 region starts with two 5.3 liter units which provide 355 horses each or 6.2 liters with 420 hp.

Capping off the lineup is an inline-six 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine with 277 hp and a 460 pound-foot torque barn. We hope this powertrain option remains the same in the 2021 Sierra 1500.
Like many trucks, safety is not a Sierra 1500 specialty. It struggles with a “Marginal” rating in IIHS ‘small side-passenger accident and a “Bad” rating in the headlight test.
Subpar results that make it far from the contentious Top Safety Pick. However, automatic emergency braking is rated “Superior” but is only available as an option on SLT, AT4, and Denali trims.
On the bright side, GMC plans to set automatic emergency braking standards on almost all of its vehicles starting in the 2021 model, and there is a possibility the Sierra 1500 will be included in that group.
2021 GMC Sierra Interior
Back in August 2019, the GM Authority was the first to report that General Motors plans to bring various updates to the interior of the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado.
In the report, we stated that the update would arrive for the 2021 or 2022 model year. Now, we have learned that the renewal will not come for the 2021 model year, but rather for the year 2022.
Updates will be synchronized with a refresh, known in GM terminology as an intermediate cycle increase (MCE), which will also provide some minor updates to the exterior.
Interior enhancements, meanwhile, will be focused around the medium and high trim levels of each vehicle, although all models must benefit from an update.
Improvements to the interior of the Silverado HD and Sierra HD have to follow about one year after that, the lightweight Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 models.
Silverado ZRX releases that focus on offroad must follow around the same period.

Since being released in the second half of 2018 as a 2019 model, the all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado pickup and the 2019 GMC Sierra have been criticized for having an interior that is not quite different from the last generation K2 model.
Meanwhile, others praised the interior of the Ram Pickup, also completely new to the 2019 model, because it is more attractive and luxurious than Silverado and Sierra.
Meanwhile, others have offered different views on the interior of the Sierra and Silverado, stating that GM’s pickup truck cab has just been.
Furthermore, our sources told us that the interior update would utilize the all-new / 2021 Chevrolet Suburban Chevrolet Tahoe 2021 cabin and the new 2021 Yukon GMC, while still being like a truck.
It should also be noted that the upcoming GMC Hummer EV will make its debut in 2021 for the 2022 model year.
As such, likely, the incoming updates for the interior of the upcoming GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado EV will also benefit from GM’s first electric pickup truck cabin.
