2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali: All Latest Update GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Looks Like
2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Overall, GM’s current full-size twin trucks, the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, are good trucks that in many ways compete with the sales-leading Ford F-150 and the new Ram 1500 which regularly nibbles the back of Bowtied trucks.
Considering the cash flow generated by the segment, it’s no surprise to see a new version of the GMC Sierra test with some light camouflage hiding some of the improved bits and pieces.
We’ll cover what we can see in a moment, but first, we’ll show what we can’t see in this spy shot. What the GM partner really needs is a competitive interior.
The Silverado and Sierra are currently limited by a dashboard, door panels, and instrument family that doesn’t quite compare to their Ram and Ford competitors.
We’ve spoken to a few designers from GM, and they’re well aware of the criticism that’s been imposed on their duo of full-size trucks, so we’d be surprised if there weren’t any highly revised interiors lurking for the trucks. ‘next refresh.
Hopefully, future eye-eye photo sets will give us a better view of what’s inside, because from afar, the windshield display doesn’t give us much information.
Will Sierra share the interior with the redesigned Yukon? We’ll just have to wait and see, but suffice it to say that any fix will be welcome.
2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali News
Since GM Authority first reported, General Motors plans to upgrade its full-size half-ton truck – the Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 – for the 2022 model year. And now, we’re seeing the GMC Sierra 2022 for the first time thanks to a fresh new set of spy photos.
The prototype model seen here wears ample camouflage on the front which completely obscures the changes underneath. However, the exterior design updates will pale when compared to what is available for the interior, as well as the various in-vehicle technologies.
Additionally, GM’s semi-autonomous Super Cruise system will eventually make its way to the GMC Sierra 2022, enabling hands-free driving on the road.

The GMC Sierra 2022 will have a suitable job for that, as it goes up against the well-received Ram 1500 as well as the all-new Ford F-150 2021.
Similar updates are expected for Sierra’s corporate cousin and T1 platform partner, the Chevrolet Silverado.
Despite criticism of the interiors of the all-new models unveiled for the calendar year 2019, the GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado are selling well. Sierra sales rose 10 percent to 106,833 units during the first six months of the calendar year 2020, while Silverado sales have increased 4 percent to 267,166 units during the same time period.

2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Redesign
The GMC Sierra Denali 1500 2022 just caught on in testing, looking at the upcoming mid-cycle enhancement (MCE) pickup, otherwise known as a refresher.
The biggest changes for the upcoming 2022 model year will be found inside the cabin, but there are some exterior changes to be expected as well.
For example, this prototype model is seen sporting placeholder headlights, which means the front of the GMC Sierra Denali 1500 2022 won’t come with a simple grille replacement, but rather a wider front fascia redesign.
This particular model also sports the same 20-inch multi-dimensional polished aluminum wheels (RPO RTL code) as the current Sierra Denali 1500.
Inside the cabin, the GMC Sierra Denali 2022 (and indeed all Sierra 2022 models) will receive a revised center stack similar to the all-new GMC Yukon 2021.
The new cab will come with a revised infotainment screen and a larger face, while a larger Driver Information Center or fully digital gauge cluster will be found behind the steering wheel.
We also expect General Motor’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assistance system to be offered on the GMC Sierra 2022, allowing hands-free driving over certain stretches of the highway.
A similar update is expected for the Chevrolet Silverado, which is based on the same GM T1 platform as the Sierra. The upcoming Silverado is also expected to offer its own version of the GM Sierra MultiPro rear door dubbed the MultiFlex, as previously reported by GM Authority.
GMC Sierra received a complete overhaul for the 2019 model year, marking the fourth generation for the nameplate.
Despite the outcry of some critics who claimed that the GMC Sierra didn’t have the proper cabin maintenance for the best competition, GMC Sierra sales continued to flow, rising 10 percent to 106,833 units during the first six months of 2020. Now, with further revisions to arrive for the model year 2022, including the GMC Sierra Denali 2022, maybe that criticism will finally stop.

2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Interior
The upcoming GMC Sierra 2022 is set to usher in a mid-cycle upgrade (or MCE, otherwise known as a refresher) that will include multiple clasps and folds to the exterior, as well as heavy revisions to the cabin.
Now, we have a new photo of the interior of the GMC Sierra Denali 2022 as seen in the following prototype model.
As we can see, these recent spy photos reveal a camouflage-clad cabin, preventing us from seeing what the updated interior of the GMC Sierra 2022 will look like.
Even so, it appears that the pickup does not have a column-mounted shifter, indicating that the pickup has been moved to a similar pushbutton arrangement as other GMC products.
Furthermore, you can see that the steering wheel on the GMC Sierra 2022 prototype is still new, with a row of silver or shiny buttons placed on the left side. There’s also a Super Cruise indicator along the top of the rim, which means semi-autonomous propulsion.

Apart from the heavy padding, we also tell you that this prototype lacks the flat-panel infotainment screen mounted above the dashboard as seen in the all-new GMC Yukon SLE, SLT, and AT4 2021 trim levels, as opposed to the visible integrated center screen. on GMC Yukon Denali 2021.
As such, the photos lead us to believe that the GMC Sierra 2022 can offer two different interior layouts in the same hue as the GMC Yukon 2021, with the Denali equipped with a unique layout and integrated screen, and the bottom trim fitted with a pop. -up screen.
As a reminder, the GMC Sierra got a complete overhaul for the 2019 model year, but some critics voiced their opinion that the new truck cabins are not competitive in the segment. Perhaps the revised cabin in the 2022 GMC Sierra will silence those criticisms for all.
2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Exterior
Moving on to the exterior, we can clearly see that the checkered and angular look of the current Sierra will continue through this refresh.
A small look through the thick tarp covering the front of the truck reveals a black plastic grille, but we’re sure there’s a lot of chrome lurking down there too.
We wondered if that opening would allow cameras or radar to peek at it, but rumors suggest GM’s revered Super Cruise could be on the menu in the next few years.
2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Engine
We don’t know what’s under the hood of this test truck, but we don’t imagine there will be many changes to the truck’s current list of powertrain options.
We expect the 3.0-liter six-cylinder Duramax diesel engine to get the cooling it needs to raise its crane rating to match its class-leading efficiency, as it is arguably America’s best light-duty diesel offering.
We know the carmaker is also working on electric powertrains, but we hope to see its debut for the first time in the Hummer-branded truck that will go on sale at GMC dealerships. We look forward to what we think will be a swift burst of spy photos as this truck continues its tests.
2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Price and Release Date
Overall We like the Sierra Elevation trim levels because they occupy a middle ground in terms of price but come with the desired look package and look cool.
You’ll also have to choose between several different cabin configurations and lengths of beds depending on what suits your needs. All-wheel drive is available at an additional cost if you need it.
However, our speculation for the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 will probably be priced above $ 29,295 with some significant changes plus the release schedule is uncertain when it will be released seeing this still in the COVID-19 Pandemic.
